Other Guidelines
Concert Attire
The Concert Singers perform a variety of programs in a variety of venues, both indoors and outdoors. Therefore, we have guidelines for more than the traditional formal black concert dress. Following are guidelines that will work for various programs and venues. The Artistic Director will decide which ensemble we will wear for each program. As always, our goal is to maintain a professional and consistent appearance for all our concerts. It you have any questions, please ask your Section Leader.
Note: NO fragrances at rehearsals or concerts — no perfume, cologne, scented lotions or hair products.
Standard Concert Attire:
There are three options for concert attire:
- A standard black tuxedo (no tails), white shirt, cummerbund, and black tie.
- The CSC black blouse and CSC black skirt, purchased through Formal Fashions.
- The CSC black blouse and CSC black dress slacks, purchased through Formal Fashions.
Option 1:
- Formal black tuxedo with white tuxedo shirt (studs, cufflinks optional), wing-tip collar with flat pleats.
- Black cummerbund, black bow tie, black socks and black shoes (soft sole is best, to reduce floor sounds).
Look at the options 2 and 3 section for info on Formal Fashions, where you can buy some of the above items.
Alternate to formal tuxedo when specified by Artistic Director:
- Long sleeve solid black shirt that can be collared like a dress shirt, or a turtleneck or mock turtleneck.
- Solid black slacks or trousers, black socks and black shoes.
Options 2 and 3:
Mandatory black top and long skirt or black dress slacks, ordered from Formal Fashions. (In order to minimize shipping costs, these can be bulk-ordered through Concert Singers of Cary each season.)
