We are delighted to welcome William Adams as the guest conductor for our Dec. 9 Holiday Pops concert. You may remember him as the Master of Ceremonies and soloist at our 2018 Holiday Pops event.

Dr. Adams (aka “Doc Adams”) has a musical career driven equally by his passions to expand his own artistic abilities and to empower musicians of all ages and backgrounds.

Trained as an operatic baritone, Adams has played more than 70 roles in opera, oratorio, and musical theater. An avid choral musician, his experience includes vocal jazz, madrigals, contemporary a cappella works, and barbershop harmony. His compositions and arrangements for choirs, soloists and the stage have earned awards from the Kennedy Center and performances at Carnegie Hall. He has played more than 40 instruments in every conceivable setting, from symphony orchestras to rock bands.

Dr. Adams currently serves as Artistic Director for Heart of Carolina A Cappella and the Triangle Vocal Project based in Durham, and has worked with over 100 country, community and church choirs, barbershop choruses, theater productions, marching bands, symphonic and jazz bands.

He holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of Texas at Austin and a Master of Music degree from California State University at Northridge. You can learn more about Doc Adams and his work at https://www.docadamsmusic.com/
