About some of the concert music…
Cuatro Estaciones Porteñas (The Four Seasons of Buenos Aires) is a set of four tango compositions by Astor Piazzolla. The work is highly entertaining and ingeniously combines elements of jazz, classical music, and tango.
You’ll also hear several pieces by Carlos Guastavino, a major Argentinian composer of the 20th century. His songs are lyric and romantic, and clearly influenced by his country’s folk music.
