Our “Music of Hope and Love” concert last night was challenging and uplifting for both our singers and our audience. The musical pieces wrestled with difficult topics (depression, despair, suicide) but ultimately affirmed the healing power of hope and love.

This season’s theme is “Connections”, and at this concert we were excited to continue our long-standing collaboration with musical artists Mallarmé Chamber Players, and to form a new connection with the talented Panther Creek High School Chamber Choir.

We were also honored to have two local community organizations join us at this concert. Pictures from the Brushes with Life Arts Program at the UNC Center for Excellence in Community Mental Health were on display in the Cary Arts Center lobby, and a National Alliance on Mental Illness speaker discussed the healing power of music and mental health during intermission.
