Our rehearsals look very different now to say the least! Even so, our Artistic Director Nathan Leaf is doing a great job leading over 70 masked, socially-distanced singers, as we rediscover our choral voice and prepare for our Holiday Pops concert on Dec. 11.
Like many arts groups, our efforts took a vastly different shape last year. We rehearsed remotely via Zoom calls and our “concerts” were virtual compilations of parts that our singers recorded individually (often while in closets or other quiet locations.) Somehow, it all worked! As director Nathan Leaf said in his end-of-season recap, “People did what they could, when they were able, and all together we were able to create some things of beauty during a bleak year. And that’s what it is all about.”
We hope you were able to view our virtual performances last season* and that you’ll join us at this year’s events. We’re planning for our annual Holiday Pops Concert at the Cary Arts Center at 7:30 pm on December 11 (tickets on sale soon), and a concert in Spring 2022.
As always, we deeply appreciate your support for Concert Singers of Cary and hope to see you soon.
