Special Gala event: Choose Something Like a Star

Special Gala event: Choose Something Like a Star

October 28, 2017, 6:00-9:30pm, Cary Arts Center

Our first performance of the 2017-18 season will be a special event and you’re invited!

“Choose Something Like a Star” will be a celebratory gala in honor of Larry Speakman (retiring after 26 years) at the Cary Arts Center on October 28, 2017 starting at 6:00 pm. Master of Ceremonies: Maestro William Henry Curry!

The Symphonic Choir will perform Randall Thompson’s Frostiana conducted by Lawrence Speakman, reprising the first-ever performance of the CSC in 1991. Alumni choir members will return to sing a commemorative piece as a tribute to Larry and Ingrid Speakman, conducted by Dr. Leaf. There will also be a video compilation of memories and achievements of the choir over the years, a festive catered reception, and a silent auction. We hope you can join us!

Tickets for the gala performance, catered reception (hors d’oeuvres) and silent auction are $35 (reserved seating, tax included). There will be a cash bar as well. There will be a shuttle for parking at the Town Hall Deck that runs 5:30 p.m.-10:00 p.m.

Tickets are now on sale, details can be found here. Alumni who wish to sing with the choir for A Red, Red Rose will need to purchase tix using special code CSCAlum2017 to get VIP seating (up front).
