The Concert Singers’ Chamber Choir will be celebrating in the Town of Cary’s MLK Dreamfest events, offering a free presentation of moving Spirituals and Freedom Songs. The performance starts January 16, 2010, at 4:00pm, Herb Young Center, Cary.
The celebration will also include a community expo, with arts and crafts activities for children, music, and the awards presentation for the Dreamfest Student Art Contest. These events will begin at 1:00 at Herb Young.
Also featured in Dreamfest, actor and writer Mike Wiley will present One Noble Journey, a one-man dramatic presentation based on the miraculous true lives of three slaves who overcome seemingly insurmountable odds to gain a life free of Southern shackles. The concert singers will be performing in this as well. (Tickets are required for One Noble Journey.)
