About our Choral Artists

Joseph Ittoop

North Carolina native Joseph Ittoop is excited to sing again with Concert Singers of Cary after several years away from the group. A recent graduate of the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, Joseph participated in several operas and oratorios including Aida, La Traviata, La Boheme, La Cenerentola, Gianni Schicci, Die Entführung aus dem Serail, L’elisir d’amore, Don Giovanni, Elijah, The Messiah, Mozart Requiem, Verdi Requiem, Faure Requiem, and numerous other works.

Last year Joseph sang the tenor solo for Brittain’s Saint Nicolas Mass and this past summer he sang Tamino in The Magic Flute which was performed in Varna, Bulgaria.

Joseph is happy to be singing with CSC again, this time as a choral artist ensemble member, and he is thrilled to be working with such talented musicians and colleagues.

Lewis Moore

Lewis Moore, bass, has appeared as soloist on many occasions with chorale ensembles from the Triangle to the coast. His solo appearances include performances of Messiah, Creation, Mozart’s Requiem and Amahl and the Night Visitors. Lewis is a member of the North Carolina Master Chorale Chamber Choir (formerly the Raleigh Oratorio Society). He also sings in the Schola Cantorum of the Episcopal Diocese of East Carolina. In addition to singing, he has served Saint Cyprian Episcopal Church, New Bern and Lakewood United Methodist Church, Durham as organist. He is now the Minister of Music at Saint Ambrose Episcopal Church, Raleigh.

Patty Philipps

Soprano soloist Patty PhilippsA native of Colorado, soprano Patty Philipps studied voice at the University of Colorado, Boulder, with Dr. Barbara Doscher. Prior to relocating to North Carolina, Patty sang in Massachusetts with the Great Woods Festival and in Colorado Springs with the Colorado Opera Company. Ms. Philipps began singing with the Duke University Chapel Choir in 1990, and has performed with the choir as soloist in China, Poland, Spain and at the National Cathedral in Washington, DC. Works performed include Handel’s Messiah, Mendelssohn’s Elijah, Rutter’s Requiem and many Sunday morning anthems. She premiered “Song of Ruth and Naomi”, an award winning soprano and organ composition by Chapel Organist David Arcus, at the National Cathedral, with subsequent performances in Seattle and Denver.

Patty has also appeared as a chorister and soloist with several other triangle groups, including the Duke Chapel Vespers Ensemble, the Vocal Arts Ensemble, the Durham Choral Society, the Chapel Hill-Carborro Community Choir, and the North Carolina Symphony Baroque Choir. Last season, Patty was the soprano soloist for the Cary Concert Singer’s Holiday Pops concert with the North Carolina Symphony and their performance of the finale from Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony with the Durham Symphony.

Sarah L. Taylor

Sarah Love Taylor, mezzo-soprano, has appeared as a soloist with the Durham Symphony Orchestra, the UNC-Greensboro Chamber Singers, and the Concert Singers of Cary and twice placed first in her division at the NC NATS Auditions. She is currently pursuing her MM in Vocal Pedagogy at UNC-Greensboro and received her undergraduate degrees from UNC-Chapel Hill in Vocal Performance and French. An active member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing, Sarah maintains a private studio in Durham, NC.

Elizabeth Terry

Elizabeth Terry is an active performer and Ph.D. candidate in musicology at Duke University. She has performed as both pianist and vocalist for audiences in the United States, Germany, Austria, Portugal, and Brazil. A proud Arkansas native, Ms. Terry graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Arkansas with a Bachelor of Music in piano performance. She also received a Bachelor of Arts in European Studies and German, and spent a postgraduate year at the University of Leipzig, Germany on a Fulbright Scholarship. Ms. Terry serves as director of first and second grade choirs at Chapel of the Cross in Chapel Hill. She continues to perform locally with the Choral Society of Durham and the Vocal Arts Ensemble of Durham.
